Brief Description
Glofish
Genetically modified/engineered animals were first developed in the 1980's and have been used for many reasons. GM/GE animals are used for things such as enhancing food, making more money, reaseach, studies, and creating desirable traits. The glofish to the left are an example of genetic modification to create desirable traits. By taking the glow in the dark gene from jellyfish, scientists were able to create the first genetically modified pet. An example of using genetic modification for profit, is creating fast growing farm animals.
The Quest for Perfection
"The Quest for Perfection" directly applies to genetic modification. Scientists are changing the animal's genes to make it more perfect. If there is anything that's considered an imperfection, you can just get change it to be what is considered perfect.
